About Friday Night Sho & Go
The Sho and Go at the ‘Bowl, a Friday evening event features 100 Foot Drags plus FREE Cruise Shows and FREE grandstand admission. They will be held each Friday from May through September beginning at 6:30pm, CLICK HERE for the full schedule.
An open-format Cruise Show, free to the public, will accompany the drag races and convert the Speedbowl midway into “Main Street”, the coolest and most eclectic collection of cars around. A popular summertime activity for car enthusiasts of all ages, cruises are wildly popular. The pairing of the Cruise Show with the competition of drag racing is sure to make The Sho and Go at the ‘Bowl a unique experience.
The Sho and Go Friday evening drag events are sanctioned by Waterford Speedbowl with event promotions provided by Thirty Marketing. Practice runs plus elimination rounds and championship races will be conducted weekly, complete with tree and full timing system. Class and a points system will be in place for various classes. Theme nights (Shootouts) including Chevy, Mustang, Mopar, Subaru and Tuner Shootouts, plus more will be featured throughout the season. Anticipation and interest in the new format is already ballooning. Reasonably priced entry-fee of $30 are required for entry into the drags. Pit admission is only $10, and the Grandstands and Car Show are FREE!!
RULE UPDATE AS OF 7/25/14: Helmets are no longer required for racer’s in the Street and Competition Class that run a ET of 2.75 seconds or slower. All competitors running ET of 2.75 seconds or faster, in an open cockpit car or convertible and Bike Class it is still mandatory to wear an approved helmet. If you are a new racer and unsure of your ET, you most likely won’t run a 2.75 seconds or quicker if you drove your car to the track, the average ET of our Street Class is 3.60 seconds.
