Friday 7/18 Sho & Go with Double Comp. Eliminator Results
Waterford, CT (July 18, 2014) – The popular Drag Racing and Car Cruise Show, Sho & Go at the Bowl returned to action at the Connecticut shoreline Friday night after a 2 week hiatus. Two awards were up for grabs in the car cruise show and four classes of spectator drag racing were on hand with repeat winners and new faces both reaching the victory lane.
Before the single round elimination drag racing got under way focus turned to the popular midway car cruise show, where the fans voted on the winners. A fan vote was cast for awards Best In Show and Most Unusual Paint Job. It was Jerry Griffin of Amston earning the fan vote for Best in Show with his yellow 2008 Saturn Sky RL and Mike Marvin of Colchester with his 2003 Miller Dragster winning the fans over for Most Unusual Paint Job.
Four classes of bracket drag racing featured the regular Street, Competition and Bike Classes. In addition a second Competition Class Eliminator was added to the racing card.
In the Street Class making his first appearance of 2014 was Justin Kolashuk who find time off of work to compete tonight and grab the win over Ryan Flanders. The first Competition Class eliminator saw Michael Ibbitson of paired against Rebecca Taylor of Uncaseville with Ibbitson taking top honors for his first career win. In the Bike Class it was 2012 class Champion James Tedford of Deep River earning his fourth Friday night win of the 2014 season on his 2002 Honda 300ex over first time competitor Mason Fargo. In the second Competition Class Paul Holmes of Clinton earned his fifth Friday night win of the 2014 season in his 1973 Chevy Nova over Rebecca Taylor who made it to the final round in both Competition Class eliminators.
Sho & Go at the Bowl action returns next Friday, July 25th and runs weekly every Friday thru September. Spectator Drag Racing Car Show rolled into one event to kick start your weekend featuring FREE Grandstand Admission!! Spectator Drag Racing will include Competition Class, Street Class, Bike Class + the 2nd Junior Shootout. Car Show Awards voted by the fans for Best In Show and Best Interior. Pits and Midway open at 6:00pm with action beginning at 6:30pm. The Fan Vote Car Cruise Show award winners will be announced at 8:10pm, opening ceremonies at 8:28pm and single round drag racing elimination events starting at 8:30pm.
