Waterford, CT (May 23, 2014) – The popular Drag Racing and Car Cruise Show, Sho & Go at the Bowl returned to the Connecticut shoreline Friday night as Waterford Speedbowl returned to action after last week’s rainout. Two awards up for grabs in the car cruise show and four classes of spectator drag racing were on hand with repeat winners and new faces both reaching the victory lane.

Before the racing action got under way focus turned to the popular midway car cruise show. For the first time ever the fans voted on the winners. Awards available for contention were Best In Show and Best All-American Entry. It was Adam Ellis of Lyme earning the Best in Show award with his 1938 Ford Pick Up in almost original condition. Best All-American Entry went to Bill Bradham of Montville with his 1955 Ford Crown Vick Pickup, the only vehicle of it’s kind in existence. In the Competition Class 2013 Class Champion Paul Holmes placed his 1967 Nova back in Victory Lane. First time driver Doug Drenzek adapted quickly to the program to become a first time winner in the Bike Class. The final event of the evening was the first shootout event of 2014.
